Let me get this straight. We're going to pass a health care plan:
(1)Written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it
(2)passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it
(3)signed by a president that also hasn't read it, and who smokes
(4)with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes
(5)overseen by a surgeon general who is obese
(6)financed by a country that's nearly broke.
What possibly could go wrong?
On a brighter note.............to all my blogger buds in Des Moines.........you can come out of your house now.........the snow has stopped falling!!!
Included in Dr. J's SOAP notes are the daily activities and thoughts that describe a doctor and a bodybuilder. Being a doctor and a bodybuilder are the things she does, but what defines her most, is her passion for life and her ability to inspire those around her to also be passionate about something in their own life. Dr. J is on her Walk--giving, inspiring, and loving. Make an appointment and tell her your complaints!
so Doc, what is your proposal for the new health plan. Let the insurance company's and lobbyist make the rules?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
ReplyDeleteVery good question you bring up. Unfortunately, we cannot allow the lobbyist to make rules as we know they are mostly in this for themselves. Notice I said most lobbyist. I had a neighbor who was lobbyist and her intentions were strictly for the people.
As for the insurance companies....we have seen where their interests lie over the years.
Before I started medicine, the AMA had no part in the CPT coding. Now, that we have CPT coding, we have lost all control to bill services. In other words, billing was fee for service. You come to the doctor and you pay cash.....just like one does when they go buy groceries. Most people shop around to find the best deals and buy from that particular store. The same went for doctors.
I am not sure this could work again, but it seems we need to put this back in the hands of consumers.
I would love to hear your comments. Thanks for writing.
